Ivy Stains on siding

Have a al sided home with ivy leftover runners all over it. Can't get the anchor (pods?) off the siding. They look like crusty dirt or dried plant material. If you scrape them it scratches the siding. Tried a strong degreaser but to no avail. Is this one that has to be sanded and repainted?

I have had that problem also. Just do what you can with it. I suppose if they want a perfect resolution to the problem, they could sand and refinish it or just replace it with vinyl. Vines are some nasty stuff.....its a shame, but they really screw up the siding.

One of my customers had the siding replaced on one side of their home because of it. I was amazed how good of a job they did matching the color. I think 90% of people are not that lucky when replace just part of the siding....it almost never matches.
