We are looking for all kinds of providers from maid services to landscaping to repair services and everything in between! What is Cleaning for Heroes?
Cleaning for Heroes is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and non-partisan organization that gives all patriotic Americans the ability to say “Thank you for your service and sacrifice” in a meaningful, practical and tangible way. Cleaning for Heroes is the only non-profit organization that provides free household cleaning, maintenance, and repair services to elderly and disabled veterans and first responders in need. By providing this much-needed household help through a volunteer network of over 24 residential field service industries, professional companies ranging from individually-owned and operated businesses to large franchises as well as everyday people up to large corporations are all given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the veterans in their communities.
The residual effect of providing this type of service improves the health and overall well-being of the recipients and their families, allowing the veterans more time to focus on their healing, family bonding, community involvement, and productivity. In many cases, the assistance given by Cleaning for Heroes can prevent recurring hospitalizations or placement into a nursing home. By keeping the veterans in their own homes, this helps maintain the dignity of the veteran and saves taxpayers the cost of absorbing any additional medical care given by overburdened military treatment facilities.
Based on the same concept that our nation’s heroes volunteered to serve their country and communities, Cleaning for Heroes is a volunteer effort that brings donors, providers and recipients together. Cleaning for Heroes relies on volunteers and donors who can contribute their time, money or services to the needs of their applicants.
Model overview of program:
Cleaning for Heroes screens applications for assistance based on evidence of existing or prior military/first responder service and evidence of an ongoing disability or elderly status. We accept applications from all eras of service and we make no distinction between levels or types of disabilities. Once an applicant has been verified and approved through our program, we connect them with local pre-approved companies to provide cleaning, maintenance, and/or repair services in the client’s home to facilitate a clean, healthy, safe living environment.
If no provider is available for the applicant, we will recruit the necessary companies to meet these unmet needs.
Each company on our network of providers agrees to pledge a minimum of $100 in free services per month to remain on our program. All companies have the option of giving three increasing pledge levels per year. Most companies participate the mid-level pledge of $2500 in donated services per year.
