So today i went and did a bid for a group home for a deck and a fence. I just recently put up a free listing on yahoo and yellowbook.com and thats how they got my name...not bad for free advertising. I have a price system designed for sq ft and lin ft so after i measure the areas i can plug and chug some numbers to see which ones makes since. The fence was 290 lin ft or 2320 sq ft and the price came out to 1,404.31 after a 10% discount and sales tax. The deck and ramp was 404 sq ft and came out to 905.28 after 10% discount and sales tax. We will see if i get the job next friday. I was planning on using sherwin williams decksape products as well. For my new way of estimating, i calulated my fixed cost for materials per sq ft, mileage, labor, and all overhead. All the overhead and materials comes out to 0.58 sq ft then $1 per mile traveled and $150 labor. I calculated the number with this new way of estimating and it was within $100 of my sq ft numbers so i will keep my sq ft way of estimating because its easier. So here is my updated price list.
House wash: $0.25-0.27 sq ft or $1.50-1.75 lin ft/story
Roof Wash: $0.23-0.25 sq ft
Gutter Wash: $1.65-1.75 lin ft
Driveway/Asphalt: $0.25-0.27 sq ft
Concrete/patios: $0.27-0.30 sq ft
Fence:
Clean: $1.27-1.33 lin ft
$0.32-0.34 sq ft
Restore: $2.55-2.65 lin ft
$0.68-0.70 sq ft
Deck:
Clean: $1.15-1.23 sq ft
Restore: $2.36-2.45 sq ft
