Larger Pressure Washer

The business is growing too fast. I need a larger pressure washer. I'm currently using a 4.0 GPM 4000 PSI cold water machine, and I have a back-up unit too. I use a 20 inch General Pump surface cleaner. It takes me a little less then 2 hours to do 3000 sq foot of concrete. If I upgrade to a 5.5 GPM, 3500 (or 4000, I know psi doesn't matter too much) hot water unit, how much time can I look at saving? Should I go for the 8 GPM machine? How much time quicker could I clean 3000 sq ft with one of those machines with two pumps running at 11 GPM? Any suggestions are appreciated. Feel free to call as well.

Take the 2 machines you now have and run your SC with them. You will need to adjust tips. Unless you are doing a lot of concrete, why spend the money, use what you have more effectively.

Be careful not to over compensate on gpm's. You may find that it's hard to find a water supply that will keep up, and you'll spend lots of down time waiting.
Also, if you're ever out on a remote job, you'll waste valuble time refilling, and as you know, time is $$$.
Advantage: You'll work faster. Disadvantage: More time refilling. Tough choice, but your choice nonetheless. Largely depends on the type of work you'll be doing.
Hope that helps. Later.

I need to have hot water. I wash a lot of store front sidewalk with a lot of traffic, and a lot of gum. Everywhere I wash there is good water flow. I plan on using a 250 or so water tank as a buffer to keep good flow. 11 may be a little overkill. 8 is prob. more reasonable, but I'm curious to know roughly how much time this will shave off. Has anybody went from a 4 GPM to an 8?

Thanks

ive read on this board where a person has doubled his gpm by running 2 machines at once. how hard would it be to get this setup im running 4.0 cold but would love to set a 2nd machine and get 8.0 .

Micah,

Your 4 @ 4000 PSi cold water unit if it utilizes a 13 HP engine
probably is actually putting out 3.5 GPM a 5 GPM Hot HP washer would
be a significant improvement, then the more volume the faster you will clean.

We have some Great Deals Available right now, I will call you with more info.

Hello Micah,

Some on over and use one of our units and you could answer this question for yourself! [hello] Productivity will improve Alot.

We currently have General TSF 2221's on our trucks. They are rated at 10.2 gpm @ 3000 psi. We use two #5 tips in our surface cleaners and a 1508 or 1510 in the wand when doing flatwork.
