Lock Open Spray Gun

I know that most spray guns have the safety device to prevent the trigger from being activated but is there one that will also lock it on. I am also aware of the straigt flow through types but would like to be able to shut it off or lock it open depending on the situation.

Thanks in advance

For liability reasons, I don't believe anyone makes a trigger like that. Some people stick a tennis ball in there to hold it open........personally I think that's pretty dangerous, but that's just an opinion.

Use an open flow gun with a high pressure shut off on the whip hose. It works... thats what we use for decks.

you might check with spraying systems they make alot of specialty guns. you might even try to adapt an airless spray gun they have the lock on or lock off option and they handle the pressure.

Had a customer that showed me a gun rigged with a zip tie. What was different about it was it was on there loose enough to slide up and down on the handle. when it was all the way up the gun was off. When he slid it down the gun was locked on. I never thought about putting a zip tie on loose. Why can't you make a sliding ring that works the same way out of a peice of coat hangar, or a bucket handle?

I use velcro straps about 3/4" x 8" to fit around the grip. Put it on loose enough to let the gun be off in the up position and to fully engage the gun in the down position. Just slide the strap down to keep from having to hold the trigger all the time adn slide up to disengage. They hold up well and will last a year or more. I find them at Wal Mart and Office Depot, etc. in package of about six. They are soft enough to not bother your hand.

Great idea Harold, I think I will get some for my guns. Had been thinking about the zip tie, but haven't done anything yet. I will try the velcro. Thanks

Hey another use for velcro. Sounds like a great idea. I will try it. Have to do something, my hand is getting tired. Thanks for the responses.
