low pressure

Wiz,
I am losing pressure when applying chemical . It was suggested that I was getting air in the line so I changed out the hose that goes to the chemical . Still have the problem . When I pull the hose out of the chemical and once the last of the chemical leaves the hose my pressure is fine . If I close off the valve on the downstream injector ,pressure still low . It feels like it is "sputtering " if that makes sense . I can still get the chemical on the house just not as much pressure as I am used to . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .
11hp honda 4gpm general pump
Thanks
Rob

Is the pump feel like it is pulsating? Sounds like its sucking air still. Make sure all the connections are tight and leak free. Could you give us a description of the type of injector it has. Is it ajustable? Also make sure your chemical hose has a wieght on it so it doesn,t curl up out of the chemical.

Hope I could help.

Hmmmmm Rob doesn't make sences does it when you can pick your chemical line up out of the tank it gets better.I'm like Daren, still sounds like air,,when your watching the chemical leave the line is it a full line or has it air pockets in it?

May be your downstreamer,is it a new one?

If you take your downstreamer off and pluged into the pump only does it still sputt?

Make sure all your water screens are clean, could be starving alittle.

Thanks , I will make sure everything else is tight . My downstream injector was replaced last year . The chemical line has no air pockets as the chemical leaves the line . Pulsating is a good way to describe what it feels like as it is shooting chemical . I might even try replacing the injector .
Thanks again for your input .

sounds like something stuck between the hose barb in the injector and the tiny ball inside. The ball is a check valve and the oring on top of it sometimes jams the whole thing up. BE CAREFULL OPENING IT UP! the ball, spring, and o-ring are tiny and get lost easy. open it over a coffee can or something so you don't loose anything. It is very simple in design. Spring ball oring in that order. Just open it up and take a look. I'll bet there is something in there that did not come with the injector.
