Method of two-stepping

I just started two-stepping a couple of months ago and man does it work wonders. The way I do it is put the acid base on first, then apply the soap as follows. Just in an effort to save a little bit of time, I was wanting to know if anyone applies the soap and acid at the same time or will this be just waisting chemicals as it will react inside the hose?

Will not work. Need to put it on in 2 steeps thus the name 2-step.
Use the search mode and there is plenty of entries on how this works and why..

Keep doing what you are doing. Mixing the two will balance out the ph and not work the same. Remember not to let the acid dry especially on glass, rinse the roofs of trucks and rinse the windows again, and do not use it on polished aluminum.

You can use the right acid at the right dilution on polished and keep it shiny.
But if your new to two steppin dont mess with polished.

You can as long as you use the mix within an hour or less, not worth the trouble mixing a freah mix on each rig.You can apply it either way, acid first and soap or soap and acid, depends on the degree of road flim your removing. Its best to apply the acid first,,,with the weather as hot as it is if the acid dries it will not work, you'll have to reapply.Acid is not near as harmful as soap if it dries, soap is more harmful then acid if it dries.

Thanks for the help so far...This past weekend it was 105 to 108 Saturday and Sunday and I was having a time with the acid drying...I start at the end of the trailers going forward so no need to worry about the windshield, but I felt like I wasn't getting as much out of my acid as I should have been.....Any tips on washing in real hot weather such as this? And do the majority of you rinse with hot or cold water?

Always rinse in cold water,it tightens the pores in the paint that hotwater opens up to clean, less dirt in there easier to clean next time.

Yes in real hot weather like this stop before you become over heated not after, its a real goood time of the year to get a heat stroke before you know it.

Like I said when acid dries its no good not working gone out the window type thingy,it'll cost you a few more seconds in speed, cost few cents in chemicals but can be done in this heat.

Depends....that said.

If your downstreaming acid and up streaming soap get the soap back over the acid meaning a few extra steps for the acid to work before drying. After appling the acid and before you start your cleaning lightly mist soap on all acided parts. This will help keep the acid working, depends on how fast its drying you may haveta mist again in this heat.

Problem is you have two chemicals trying to dry at both ends, starting and stopping point.Acid trying to dry on one end and soap trying to dry on the other end and hotwater washing will dry faster than cold water washing. For safety reasons I'm usually shut down by 11:00 am and start back up bout 5/6 pm.This is a real good time of year to streak a dark colored truck if the soap dries faster than you can remove.Wash dark colored early and late, lighter colors in the heat of the day.
