has any one heard of a product called "mildew check" if so does it work on painted wood. I have a church that wants the mildew cleaned off the trim but dont want the brick washed. Is this a product you can use that wont streak the brick but still get the mildew off?

Danny,

Be careful when u bid jobs that require you to clean something that is above and area like "brick" that they dont want cleaned. On more than one occasion i have had a potential client get smart and request that knowing that the chems would run onto the brick and more than likely they would end up getting the total job done for only the cost of the upper painted area. I would hope that a church would not be privy to such an act but you always need to be on the lookout for clients who only want "parts" of their house or building done.

Good luck,

TW

Honestly there is no way to wash a building without getting cleaning chemicals on the brick. The trick is to pre-wet the brick before you apply your chemicals,no matter what chems you use you'll still have to rinse the brick.(rinsing the brick doesn't require high psi)
We don't just wash trim,we wash the whole building(or at least rinse it before, during and after)the price is the same.Often times when people want the just the trim cleaned they think they are going to get a lower price.

Never heard of "mildew check" chlorine diluted to your needs would do a great job.

The instructions for mildew check say "add bleach" to mildew check. It is primarily a detergent. Here are the ingredients from the MSDS.

01 ETHYL BENZENE 0.1- <1 100-41-4 I
02 ALCOHOL ETHOXYLATES 1 - <5 68439-46-3
