Moisture Meters

I need to pick-up four (4) moisture meters for this upcoming season for my guys in the field.

I'd like to hear some feedback from anybody who likes their meter more than others so I can get an idea of what I should be looking at. If you've got a company you deal with online or a rep at a company I'd like to hear about that also. We've got a company here in Pittsburgh that sells them, or at least their version of a moisture meter, but I want to make sure I'm getting the best before I go and pick-up several of them.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I got mine from Sunbrite. It's small, easy to use, and has a cross-reference guide for the type of wood you encounter. I know there are others out there, but this one was the easiest for me to acquire. I think it's on their website. Or call Chris Detter, he has always been available to discuss things.

I too use the moisture meter that Sunbrite sells........a Delmhorst. I have no basis for comparison, since this is the only meter I have ever used......

There is a company in Oregon that sell Lingomat moisture meters that you can also use on concrete. I have been using on of them for several years . They are less than $200.00

Phone # 800-227-2105 Look for model mini L, on sale till the end of March for $158.00 The one I have is a mini LC but I don't think they make that model now. At one time I was a cabinetmaker and that is how I found this company. Thay have quite a few different models, but for what we do I think this is the best.

I know it's a little late to reply to this thread. however was wondering what you ended up with? I found 1 on the net today that is pinless and measures 1/2in. into the wood.measures from 4%-20% for140.00 .

like I said it's a little late. you probably already found what you where looking for.

would still like to know what you went with. I'm looking for 1 myself.
