Hi all,
I was recently asked to clean some roofs at a remote resort location in hte mountains where there is a sever problem of heavy moss build-up. Most of these roofs are comp shingles. Some of these build ups are up to 2-1/2 in, thick.
We have a cabin there as well and tried a test on our roof first. The results were not so good. I first hit it with some sodium hyp at 12% and 50/50 mix (pretty heavy) and tried to wash off with about 800 psi. Most of the top stuff came off but still a significant layer of bright green moss about 1/2" thick remained.
I don't want to use any higher pressure so as not to damage the shingles and the roof pitches there are so severe because of heavy winter snow that even trying to brush is not an option (no access).
There are approx. 250 cabins at this resort that I'm sure most would like to have them cleaned but I need a solution to do so.
Has anyone experienced this type of work and have any suggestions?
