WOW!
Sky Blue Window Cleaning. LOVE it! In 4 words you know exactly what you do. But if you ever branch out, then you are quite right, you would need to consider a modification.

Maybe..
Sky Blue Cleaning Services
with a slogan of....
"The sky's the limit with Sky Blue!"

That is a FUN name!

I think a one man company needs a larger than life name as much as any other company does, and one reason is the mindset the consumer has with regards to contractors. It goeas back to impressions and appearance. Set yourself apart. Be bigger than life. You have to make your name a HOUSHOLD name (assuming residential here folks) if you are going to caprute market share, and that means being memorable. Doesn't matter if you are small, if you are memorable you will be on more solid ground.

What mike said has alot of merit. But the reverse can be true. You can have a great name, and be overpriced and give lousy service and be in real trouble. You have to get the bigger picture, you have to do what's right, and do it consistantly. If you are doing things right, it's half the battle. Now add that golden name.... :)

Personally I think naming companies and products is fun and I love doing it. If you find yourself in that position, write everything down that comes to mind, even the things you think are too corny. Write down any ideas others have. Brainstorm too. You'll be amazed at the ideas you'll generate.

Thanks Beth,
I have been racking my brain for a new company slogan, since I'm going to be doing more than windows, a lot of customers have also commented on how much they like my company name, I would love to take credit but I named it after one of my first loves, the football (soccer) team from my home town back in England.

David,
The Answer to your questions is yes about Amanda Meyer.

She helped design my logo also and her prices are pretty reasonable. E-mail me at clncounty@aol.com so I can direct you to her.

Mike,

The logo looks great. Nice, clean, and easily read from a distance or any size that you make it.

Your company name is fine.

I like your logo - it has a clean look to it.

I consider the star your logo not the company name. If a customer can look at a sign and know who you are before reading the sign - Your logo is effective.

What do you think when you see a yellow M?

Put your logo on everything you do or touch.

A slogan beneath a company logo can tell the customer all about the company-sends a message.

Example -- My logo and slogan (Protect & Increase the Value of Your Property.) is on every mailout, coupon, invoice, contract, newspaper add, etc that I do.

A phone number or website does not belong on a logo.

When I get time to figure out how to post pics - I post my logo. A lot of interesting points made.
