i have came to a point in this feild where i think i need to expand my services. a rather large contract that i have been chasing contacted me today and explained that they want the cleaner (hopefully me ) to seal the concrete also and preferablly with a gritty sealer. i am clueless when it comes to this area. If you seal concrete will it increase the slip and fall count when it gets wet from rain? What is the best way to seal concrete? Are there any real benifits to doing this or are they just trying to cut back the number of times a year it is cleaned? Please any info that you might have will be helpfull. e-mail or call . thanks for the help.

I am not by no means an expert but in casual conversation I can tell you that I know you can buy concrete stain in different colors and you can pour these little gritty non skid additives to the sealer so it won't be slick and have some texture ( buy it at home depot ).

I talked with a concrete company one time that stained alot of concrete and did surface texture that kind of thing and they told me that they did only above ground concrete ,like parking garages, cat walks etc . and that most paints, stains etc don't really hold up long on ground concrete.
have you noticed how peoples carports or poarches look after a few years ??

are you doing walk ways or industry type stuff or parking lot ??

look at some products and call the manufacture and pass that info to your customer and let him make the decision

good luck

Check-out www.vseal.com it's what we use--- not a grit type sealer but helps stop a slip-hazard surface...........Hope its ok to put this here? If not e-mail me & I'll tell you!!!.......RICK......R&R...........:bb
