Newspaper Advertising

Hey guys, I just wanted to get your opinion on advertising in the newspaper classified. I'm listed in all local phone book yellow pages, but i'm interested in picking up some extra work. There is usually a few guys in the area that advertise in the paper for pressure washing but it's mostly sketchy unlicensed handyman guys that dont advertise anywhere else. Several of my customers have told me that they have seen the newspaper adds but did not trust them, and thats why they only use the phone book to get service work done. I can run a small 4 line add in the newspaper for roughly $120/month which would pay for itself if I even got 1 small job, but it's also wasted money if no jobs come in. Let me know what you think

Jonathan,

Do it it works for me. I only pay $6.00 a week. I started the ad with Afforadable Pressure Washing by Power Wash of Virginia LLC. I'm the first ad listed in the classified section.

I have made several thousand from the ad.

Good Luck

PRESSURE WASHING: Affordable. Licensed & Insured. Free Estimates.

I just kept it simple so it wouldnt rack up the price. I cant believe how expensive advertising in the newspaper can be.. Overall I'm getting the best return on my money with advertising in the yellow pages of the local phone books. I've tried flyers, and targeted direct mail but the return was not worth the time and effort. What mode of advertising besides yelllow page ads has shown to work best for you guys?
