Mark i am sad to say after putting that screw in still no fuel coming out. I really thought that was it. So for some reason the solenoid is not opening i guess. Unless you can think of something else. By the way thank you for the phone support.

Jonathan,

OK you have a new fuel pump with solenoid installed and
you installed the plug in the bypass / return port for dual line operation
and the solenoid is opening but no fuel to burner???

I am assuming this is a two pipe system, meaning one suction line to fuel pump, and one return / bypass line to tank.

Have you tried bleeding the fuel pump?

Did you get the blue Installation Information sheet with your fuel pump? If so refer to: General Information . ...........Important Information....... If all else fails call me in the morning.

I did all that you mentioned and yes its a 2 line system. Could it be the pressure/flow switch by any chance not allowing the soleniod to energize fully?

It is possible, we had a high limit
switch doing that a couple weeks
ago!

Try putting power directly to the
solenoid bypassing the thermostat,
and flow / pressure switch.

If the burner fires then you know
your on the right track. [wow]

ok i finally got fuel coming out. It was the solenoid. the new pump i ordered came with one that was 110 so i put the old one back on and fuel started flowing out. Now i gotta wait till the morning to fire up the washer and make sure that it heats up.

LOL! [hello]

Well that should make a difference!

I am surprised it even magnetized the
screwdriver if it was a 115 volt coil
and you were powering it up with 12 volts?
