Old Vinyl Cleaning

Was asked to clean a vinyl house. Guess it is 15 years old and never been cleaned. Went to look at over the weekend. Noticed that there appeared to be a lot of oxidation on it - when I rubbed my wetted finger across the siding, a bunch of white appeared on my hand. When I rubbed hard, I left a streak on the vinyl. I have seen this on Al siding, but never vinyl.

The house is pretty gross, and will need to use bleach on most of it to remove nonvascular growth. Am concerned about streaking.

Any suggestions?

be very concerned about streaking,i have done several of these and i cant seem to get em to shine, even tried high dollar supposed to last a year wax and didnt make a difference.

just dont let any cleaners dry on the house and you will be ok,give a disclaimer to the homeowner just to be safe.

Once a house gets that bad its very hard to make it shine. I use a mix of bleach and a soap of about 12.4 Ph with no sodium hydroxide. I clean with water temp about 175, this helps remove all the oxidization that will come off. Houses like this - one rule slow down. Take your time and make sure you wash the house evenly. After im done i apply wax cold to the vinyl at around 20% solution and it does help rejuvenate the siding and keeps the chalk down until the next wash.
