Oxalic Acid

Was wondering if anyone who has worked with Oxalic Acid has a good mixture recipe for it. Just got my hands on a 55 lb bag of the powder and use it for rust removal from homes. You know sprinkler rust. Was using the rust aid from home depot but at $10 a gallon I can mix mine much cheaper now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Jim:)

The best advise would be to start weak and keep adding to it until you get the results you want. I just mix some and put it in a pump up and spray it on and let it sit for 5 minutes. If that doesnt work I just add a little more and try again. I use about 6 ounces per gallon for decks. I just take that and mix it a little stronger for getting rust off vinyl siding.

Jim, I use 8 oz. per gallon for rust removal and it works great. I am up in Saint Augustine, were did get the oxalic from? By the way, how did your 40 home roof cleaning go?

Concrete brightening and rust removal: 8-12 oz per gallon of warm water

Wood: If using straight oxallic: 2 oz per gallon. I have found anything more than that is overkill. It bleaches the wood unnaturally and causes one to have to use too much stain.
