Hello,
Does anyone have an idea how to bid on this job? I have to prep for painting. The house is about 200 years old and the brick was made in the front yard. (Hand Maid) The house is also 2 1/2 stories tall. This guy is going to restore his family home. If anyone can just give me an idea on biding this, that would be great. Also, can you help me on how I should go about doing this? With this brick being so old and hand maid. Will I need to use certain chemicals or something? Thanks and Lord Bless Ya!!!

Very Carefully!!! Try finding Bob Villa or Norm Abrahams (This Old House) on the net and see if you can find a forum or email address to submit questions. Growing up on the East coast I have seen many 200 plus year old homes and they have done many projects that had bricks. I saved 600 bricks from a 125 year old school and some are in a flaking stage. I hope to use them in a new walk way in my yard. Im going to look into glazing them in a Kilm.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you but please share any infom you do gain, because I am wondering how one can work with them too.
Thanks

I know absolutly nothing about the subject in question, but have a thought. research the area for soil properties, this may be helpful when or if you contact other more knowledgable people on the subject. I am sure knowing what the bricks are made of would be helpful. Good luck, I love to here about things from the past.
