I know this is the age old question....What to charge! I recently made a local contact with a Pool/Spa istallation bussiness and they have a need for pressure washing service after installation is completed. I dont have the full story on what this kinda job will entail, but if any one has any expeirence in this sort of field or how to charge this type of job...please share.

Thanks,

It's mostly washing off the sand, dirt, some mortor (they are usually very carfeful) and debris associated with building pools. Here in Florida, the law requires a safety fence be installed around the pool so children don't fall in. The drilling etc for the fence will creat dust that is hard to sweep. before the pool is filed w/water, the inside needs washing out. No big deal. depeneds on how dirty the workers leave the area. Do one for what they are used to paying and see if you like it. It can suck HUGE but, it can also keep ya pretty busy.

Thanks alot.....Doesnt sound like to bad of a job. Do you just use a wet vac to get the residual out of the bottom of the pools? Sump pump? I'm weary on the idea of letting them decide what to pay me though. Any rough ideals how to charge for this job? Hourly I try to make a min. of $75 per hr. washing residential homes....average around $85-90 range. Yea im not the cheapest guy in town, but I treat each house like it were mine. Attention to detail is my selling point when I sell my jobs. Ok I got a bit off track there....back to the topic at hand. Charging by sq. or Lin. Ft could get tricky since I wouldnt be able to use my surface cleaner on all the concrete areas.

I don't think you'll need your surface cleaner for these type of jobs. It is nothing more than a rinse, but the trick is reclamation. A wet-vac won't do it. You need a reclamation system with a tank. Easy job if you have the equipment. Good luck!

By the way, pools have always been an eyeball estimate for me. If you've been in the business for awhile, I'm sure you will get this one right. No surprises on a job of this type.
