poor water supply

i'm due to clean a roof on an old stone cabin in the woods. it has city water, but output seems to be about 3.5 gpm's. my 4 gpm machine is supposed to have a water supply of 5 gpm's, according to the manual. i don't have a water tank. is there something i can jerry-rig for this one-time job? or is there some adjustment a i can make on the pressure washer to respond to the low water supply? it's my understanding that adjustments to the unloader affect only pressure, not gpm; am i correct about that?

thanks

If you have an empty 55 gallon drum you can fill it. Then run the tap hose to the drum and a shorter hose from the drum to the machine.

That will act as a float take giving you some play. [2022]

Agree with Dan on the 55 gal, drum.

Take a brass 1/2 or 3/4 hose barb heat the thread end and screw it into the bottom side of the drum(plastic drum),run a hose to the pump intake(where your float tank is plumbed) from the bottom of the drum out put

the only thing i would add would be to put a float valve on the top of the drum so it wont spill all over if you need to stop for a while.
Also the supply line from the drum needs to go directly to the pump.[not into the float tank if you have a float tank]
