Super Late,

I'm sorry to hear about your condition. As far as, starting the business, I have just started myself. Business is gradually building up. I can adjust my schedule because, I have a small amount of jobs coming in. I guess if you started and became extremely busy, you could hire a helper. Are you in a laborous type of business now?

If you will be starting in the residential business, maybe you should start out by renting a washer and surface cleaner and see if it's right for you.

Best of luck in your new adventure. Stay positive and strong and things will work out.

Even when you're healthy it can be tough dragging yourself out to work. Somedays it's cold and rainy, others it's blazing hot. It's rarely ever ideal conditions for power washing.

Some nights I come home so tired, I fall asleep on the couch by 9:00, and I know I have to keep going full throttle for who knows how long.

I would seriously consider your idea, and do more research before pursuing any further. Rent a machine, and clean a friends deck, completly restore it as you would a customers' and see how it goes.

I just gave up a 17 year career in the office, working as a Microsoft certified system administrator, to pursue power washing as a full time gig. It often takes everything I have to keep the fire burning and keep kicking ass. Deep down I know there's plenty of work, and I can make it, but it sure is a lot more physically demanding than I had gotten used to. Being tired and sore is part of the game.

Although I don't know much about MS, and I don't know what your limitations are, or will become, I think delivering parts might be a more suitable and longer lasting job for you.

Good luck
Tony
