Powerwasher TM. Newbie could use some help

I recently bought a hot water pressure washer from a friend.Brand new never been used. It has a sticker on the side, from FAIP North America. I went to their site, but nothing on this model. Here's what I know: Manufacturer is Powerwasher TM.Model is RF2100-H. It can run on diesel 1 or 2 or kerosene.
Also has GFI plug for electricity for pump. 1.75 GPM and 1200 PSI, Built in detergent resevoir. Does anyone have any info about this unit? I purchased it for $250.00 Came with gun but no hose. Still new in box on half pallet. Is this a decent unit for decks, fences etc... Any info HELP!

Thanks, Mike

Mike ,
Is it 110V or 120V

That will work fine for decks. The Die-or Kero- is for your burner The elec. part will run your pump and burner Without the elec. you have no burner. It will work providing you want to lug around extension cords all the time. Most Mobile washer use a gas powered unit with a 12V burner or a 110V Which plugs into the on board generator. (Skid Unit).

This unit will do what you need it do..........However when you start to make a few bucks ...... Throw it in the gararge somewhere and forget about it....... Go buy Yourself a "real" washer :).. I mean that in a good way !!

It's a 120v, Dan. Can I use a small gererator with this? I live on a cul de sac with about 60-70 houses, (mostly ranches, raised ranches and capes) all built in the late 70's early 80's and almost every one of them has a deck and fencing.I work 6 days a week running a muffler and brake shop, and thought I might be able to make a few more bucks by doing a deck or two on Sundays. (Got two little ones, and I'm a single dad now with no mom in the picture) Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions for me, they would be greatly appreciated,i.e. marketing, which detergents to use,accessories,etc... If things go well, I would consider starting my own business in this field. I'm really sick of working 70 hrs a week for a big corporation, who just considers you another number!

Thanks,Mike

P.S. Dan Go Patriots!

Don't use hot water on decks. Read more here about proper deck cleaning via the use of detergents. Noone uses high pressure on decks anymore. Get insurance. The machine you are referring to is also designated the "Vandalism 2000" Going rate for a wood restoration professional is $2.00 times the floor square footage.

No one uses high pressure? What type of unit do you use? What type of application would this unit be helpful for?

Mike, I really didnt consider 1200 high pressure Yes it can be done with alot less ....... However 1200 will work if you are carefull ........... Oh and the heat ............ You will never know if it works for you or not unless you try....... I have used heat on a couple decks ............ Decks where I ran outa solution and didnt wanna make the 50 mile trip to a store. Heat works good along with the low pressure................. when you get used to your equipment you will find out yourself!!

It's like anything else....................... trail and error.........

btw................................. Tommy is on every Pittsburg fan chit list! he is a washed up wanna-B................... I cant believe they kept him in .................. I hope the players gave him a "flushy" in the locker room<@>

Heat raises the grain on wood and will leave the deck very uneven. 1200 psi isn't ridiculous but 750 psi is more than enough. I won't get into what detergents to use as everyone has their favorites. Feel free to email me and I can give you more specifics. pressurepros@mail.com
