I’ll tell you what I’d like to see added to your book, a basic business plan. I’d bet 98% of the folks starting out don’t have one, and that’s why they have so much trouble. Folks fall in every pothole and learn by the school of hard knocks instead of doing some simple reading / research.

Some Marketing information would be great for individuals just starting out -- and for the veterans.

I say write the book. Leave the homemade receips out of the book (that will make a lot of these distributers happy). Just have a section explaining what kind of chemicals base are use for different surfaces. Explain the danger of each chemical.

Write a book that explains: Operations, Advertising, Marketing, Safety, Budgeting, etc.

**Be extremely careful what you put in the book. By you writing it, you are taken ownership.

JustMe -

A copy of said document would be a welcome addition. Will you forward us one? AeroWash@att.net.
In fact, if you need any examples/anecdotes of "learning the hard way", I've got many - mostly 1st hand, and some good stories from old-timers in the area.
We applaud your ambition, and from what I've read, your perseverence.
You're doing the right thing. All of those who cautioned you about liability, and to watch yourself were-and are, correct. What many people forget is that having a suit filed against your co. is NOT the apocolypse. Our culture only trumpets the 7-figure, stupid "hot coffee lawsuits"... the ridiculous, big money stuff. The reality is that many of us will be sued, sooner or later, and if we continue to do as we have learned-hopefully some of which provided by documents like yours, and advice from the experienced, and very generous pros on this BB... our industry will be better because of it.

In short, I feel that all of you are right (nearly), and safety is one area never over-emphasized. Also, fear only creates that of which we fear-the ignorance of others cannot dissuade those who are willing to help others (done correctly, of course).

Keep up the good work.

Just Me,
I'm new to the BB, but I think what you are doing is great. Safety is an issue that needs to be addressed but it does not need to be an issue that prevents you from compiling what information that you have. One thing no one has realized: knowledge across this industry helps EVERYONE. It will bring integrity and confidence into a service industry that has typically not had it. Unless your a snake oil salesman, you will benefit when the new guy down the road improves his business.
I would greatly appreciate a copy of the guide that you are making. Please send me one @ Baileyj_2000@yahoo.com.

If you let others keep you from doing what your heart desires, you have lost and they have won.

Thanks

JHB

copy of the user guide to pressure washing

I too would like a copy of the book. Could you send it to degraffreeds@aol.com. I am new to this business also and think this would benefit all newcomers to the biz.

Hey. It's really nice of you to spend time making this document for people. Maybe you could send one to me if it's ready. Thanx Ben Lieblich. ben1787@aol.com
