doub;e is aways better then single.......elec. brakes?

i have a 325 gallon tank and it is approximately 6ft long from curved end to curved end. Its about 38in tall. I got mine from a local Agriculture supply store. If you give them a call or go on line they can give you the measurements. Good luck!

trailer

Just buy a 77+12ft and you wont have to worry .it normally has 2 axels @3500lbs each that gives you a 7000lb carrying weight .

depends on the tank, i represent three manufactures of tanks and they all have different dimensions, i recommend a horizontal leg tank, with the tubular bands, not the flat steel bands. alot of people use the recycled square tote tanks in the cage, while these are cheap and do work for a while, they are pretty thin and will eventually split. the tank i recommend is designed for this use and is about 1/4" thick or thicker. as far as a trailer, spend a little extra to get a good trailer, the cheap angle iron trailers are flimsy, i prefer one with 2x2 square tubing rails and 2x3 rectangle tubing tongue. when i used to build trailer units i would use a 6x10 trailer with 3500lb single axle on up to 300 gallon cold water units, double axle trailer on hot water unit. everyone else here does the same. where in georgia are you? i could refer you to someone that can help you with the tank and trailer.

Agreeing with the previous posters, there are as many different dimensions for tanks as there are tanks. Personally, we have two of the used totes inside the aluminum cages. They work very well for as little as we've ever used them. In fact, have not used once this season and our business has expanded by 85% this year.

As far as a trailer goes, I would highly recommend a dual axle for hauling water & equipment. Electric brakes would also be a good thing. Water weighs 8.34 lbs. per gallon. That's a little over a ton per 250 gals. This, combined with equipment, materials, etc., adds up fast. Also, when the tank is say, half full/empty, braking becomes more of an issue. The water will act as a wave pool, pushing & pulling you as you accelerate or deccelerate quickly. If you consistently need to haul water, the larger trailer with dual axles will last far longer than a smaller, single axle.

Perhaps the more important question is how much business will you do, how long do you intend to stay around, and can you get by with less without throwing good money to bad? We tend to stay very conservative when making major equipment purchases, but will definitely spend whatever makes sense for the right piece of equipment. For example, we purchased a "hardly used" 6' x 10' single axle trailer 1 1/2 years ago at a good price. It has served us well, but didn't give us the flexibility or working room we had hoped. We have since converted this trailer to accommodate our post-construction cleaning set-up and purchased a 14' tandem axle with elec. brakes for our wash rigs. Fortunately, the money spent on the first trailer was not wasted, but we discovered only by using it over a period that it didn't offer us the flexibility or efficiency we needed.

My point being.......getting advice from this forum will help make your decision. You're the one that has to figure out how much a new trailer is going to help you make money, and how much money do you "really" need to spend to do what you do. Good Luck

I would like to know how to get rid of them. I think that I have about 60 - 70 tote tanks. Is there any one that pays to take them away? I know that my chemical distributor said that the core charge is about what it would cost to ship them back to him.

Don't know about your area (Georgia), but you could check some factories, chem companies, landscape or pallet companies that make colored, recycled mulch.

Northcoast is right. Around here they use to have a core charge, but hauling doesn't pay because you can only get so many per trip so they just build the price of the tote in the product. I can haul 12 - 15 away per week for free from a local company. Once in a while my local PW serviceman will take a few from me to overhaul & sell to other PW's.

Look around, you should be able to find one somewhere.

Hey Dan,
I think the reason the prices are not in the catalog is that the parts are basically commodities. That means the prices on the market constantly change based on conditions at a given time. If prices were printed, they would be obsolete before the ink even dried.

Besides, being one of Marks' top customers, he probably gives you better pricing anyway. Don't sweat it.

Howard they are 275 gallons and they are in a cage some are 2" NPT and 2" cam and groove outlets. I have now clue on shipping just that if I send them back to the manufacture it would be a wash on the core charge. You or anyone is more than welcome to purchase them if you pick up or arrange for shipping.

Dan S. we get our aluminum brightener in these totes and usually go through 2-3 totes of it per month. So tote tanks are becoming like rabbits around here. Our soap is "panel bright" that we market and distribute which comes in a 3 part kit form that makes 150 gallons/kit, on average we use 9-12 kits per month. Panel Bright is the original formula for the "brown stuff" that just about everyone sells and everyone uses.

Eric,
Can you post a picture of the totes? I would be interested in coming down to pick up two of them, as it would only be about a 2.5 hour drive. What do you want for them?

Thanks!

Its a little far for me to come pick them up so I would have to have them shipped to me. I'm interested in how much you want for them as well.

Thanks
