Anyone care to give tips on writing
a proposal. I need to write one for
bank in my area. Exactly what do you
include or not include. This will be
probably for the drive-thru only.
thanks, roger

Ok guys, lets help him out. I will start, ya'll add to it.

1) Professional Letterhead if not on proposal form.
2) Describe work to be done, in detail, but too much detail.
3) Give one total price. Do not itemize so they can tell how much for each lane, grease removal, ect.
4) I like to make proposal good for up to 15 days only. After that, a new proposal needs to be done. (in case they have a heck of a transmission leak that goes half way down the drive-thru or something like that)
5) I like to give three different options.
One Timer Price.
Quarterly Price. (with contract)
Bi-Yearly Price. (with contract)
6) Net ? days to pay
7) Offer free Demonstration, if you already haven't
8) Attatch list of referrals

Ok, what else.

I don't call them proposals but estimates, some also call them bids.

Now about Craig's #2, I am sure he meant NOT to much detail, rather then to much detail.

Most of my accounts are net 30 days. Estimates good for 30 days so I sort of like your idea of 15 in case of spillage.

I use a estimate sheet rather then letter head, it does have my company logo and name on it. I use Quick Book Pro so customized mine from there.

Craig pretty much covered it all but we know some like to take all the fun out of asking OK, what else?

Yep, not too much detail is what i meant. I don't think too fast, and type a lot slower than that.
