With the Pwna Convention getting closer I personally am trying to make arrangements to get there.

With my phone like Richards and others here being a bit quiet lately, things like this board keep me motivated to exceed in this industry.

Another thing that I'm looking forward to attending is the PWNA Convention. This should be another positive booster to my psyche in getting ahead in this field.

If anyone wants to know were to look up for a good deal on flights to this show just go to the site www.expedia.com and put in the needed information(Thanks Mike H.) They have great deals there.

I'm looking forward to possibly meeting some of you here at the big dance.

So who thinks they might be going?

I checked the online reservation system for the Westin, which is where the convention is at this year. There were rooms available for $109/nite and up.

I'm likely going to book a couple nights.

I called the PWNA, and here is what I found. IT is free to attend the exhibitors show. If you're a non-member, it is $369 to attend the conferences and discussion groups. It's about $250 more each for the exhaust cleaning seminar, and the wood restoration seminar. The prices are cheaper if you are a PWNA member, which would set you back another $250.

I've already booked three nights at the Westin at $109/nite. Looking forward to meeting the folks that are going.

It also sounds like somebody is making a lot of money on this. :D

Keep in mind you cannot take both the wood seminar and the kitchen exhaust seminar.......you have to pick one. They happen simultaneously.

Has anyone here ever paid to join in on one of the PWNA conferences and was that part worth it. For $369 it seems a little steep. As far as the wood restoration and kitchen exhaust classes they seem to be worth the money because you are actually getting class work for the part of the business that you might want to either get into or are already into and you just want to get a better education about it.

This and other bb's I'll bet are better for the learning curve then a 1 or 2 day discussion group could be considering that these bb's are ongoing. Either way I wonder if the conference would still be worth it?

I'm thinking that just visiting the free exhibitor event will be worth going. A chance to meet many vendors in one location, and find out what new products are in the process and so on.

It's only a five hour drive, I figure even if I garner nothing from the convention, at least it'll be a mini vacation for me and the wife, and better yet.....no kids for a couple day!!! ;)

Seems like there's alot of you guys in PA. The convention is practically in yer backyard! It would seem worth it to go for the exhibitions.

If you have never been to one....I would suggest going just for the fact that there are so many other contractors in one room and with so much knowledge....it is unreal!!!!

Just pay for exhibition hall...hang out and BS for a while...

I went to Cleveland and to Orlando and learned so much in those couple days I was on information overload!!!!

I feel it is to my advantage because sometimes on these boards, not everyone shares what they know. I know I just come here to read when I don't have time to answer posts.

I will be there with my new rig and truck. '99 Dodge 1 ton dually, 4WD with an enclosed 16 foot trailer with hot skid mount, 400 gallon water supply, and a little sucker water recycling system.
It is bad as heck!!!(everything is black...in honor of the man.)

I'll see your cup of coffee and raise you a cannoli Mike!!

The hotel for this meeting is the Inter-Continental, which I don't think is a Westin. Be sure to double-check before plunkin' any hard-earned cash down, folks.

This is an old post. Don't respond because this was back in 2001 before the Twin Towers came down and the Pitt. Show was cancelled.
