PWNA Cruise

I was speaking to Mike Hughes the other day via phone and I must add that he is very knowledgable in the field of powerwashing and a pleasure to speak to. Thanks for the info Mike. Anyway he was talking about the Pwna fall convention that will be held in Pittsburg. I'm going to try to make that one because its close to my home. We also briefly talked about the Pwna cruise thats comming up the following year. I wonder how much of that can be a business write off. How great would that be to be able to go on a cruise and then write it off. The only thing greater than that would be to bring the wife and kids and be able to write the whole thing off. That is if my wife doesn't throw me off because I will be talking powerwashig stuff as she puts it. When I see my accounting next month I will ask him and then I will post what he has to say about this.

Not sure how much you can write off if your wife takes the cruise with you unless you have a handicap like I do.

I can write it all off

at the IRS since I am 65 to 70% deaf she is my ears

.

Now if it is a local meeting and no travel it is not so easy to do, sure the meal but on the cruise and PWNA meeting ah what a break I get!!!!!!!!!!

I can prove she helps since she takes all the notes!

John,

Don't ask the accountant.......just tell her that she can't go...........she'll love that one!

Seriously though, you should ask, but don't expect to hear what you want to hear. Unless you put her on the payroll and register her for the seminars........too much $$ and she wouldn't care anyway. I plan to have my wife fly down in time for the cruise, and skip the meetings.

Not worried about the wife getting to go, SHE'S the owner, just hoping she'd let me tag along.

Craig?

So are you taking full advantage of that women owned business. I’m sure you know about all the special breaks you get. My sister and another friend open their business that way and have some great advantages. My sister got a contract only because the casino got a tax break just for using her. I have not run up against this yet, I’m sure if I loose one that way I will be upset. I will quickly get over it I’m sure. If you have not check into financing you should, my sister borrowed money at some ridiculous rate and purchase and apartment complex. I’m sure you know about these advantages or you wouldn’t have put it in her name. Woops don’t tell anyone about that part. lol

Mike: Very good idea, need to double check that it is 100% business expense, could only be partly deductable.

Without her I hear nothing in the seminars, she is my note taker. When I was in college I had paid note takers, the state of California paid them for me, hey I am classifed disabled ok!!!

When we went to the one last year in Las Vegas, I could hear ok one on one up close unless the person talking turns around, then I miss it all but from a distance I hear nothing.

Craig you poor guy, you might be left behind when the "Owner" goes on a business trip, oh well that is how it is in business, the workers are not "intitled" to all those benefits, just be glad she pays you for working.

Just my opinion guys!

I think you should take your wife’s, regardless of taxes and or write-offs! Anytime you can take your wife on a trip away from the regular daily grind (job, business, kids, whatever) do it! You and your marriage will be thankful!

Coming up on 39 years for us.

Very cool, maybe I'll do the Baja cruise. Easier than crossing the border right now.

No it's a hack to stop regular users from spamming. I get it but it's a hassle if your trying to get a lot of posting. I'm fast and post often , it will just detour people from participating FYI

Never been on a cruise except for an aircraft carrier. (Too long of a cruise!)

I've always been a "control" type of guy who likes to control my movements. With the piddly little boats we've had we've gone to Catalina 4 times and up and down the coast a little.

But Ron has got me rethinking all that. He doesn't accumulate a lot of stuff like boats that have to be serviced every spring from sitting all winter, or dirt bikes that gel up from non-use and other such stuff. He just decides what he wants to do and goes and rents it or pays someone to take him there. I'm starting to see the wisdom in that.

I'm going to take the leap this year and probably shed whatever junk I have that takes time to maintain and simply start renting.

That will be my first step towards breaking the "control" bond and maybe eventually I can enjoy a cruise where I'm not the driver! lol!

It was cool to be able to follow this guy though---- Blue whale - Largest animal on the planet. Never got a tail pic, he wasn't doing any tail up stuff. Probably a good thing, it probably could have capsized us. The whale was easily 3 times as long and a lot wider than the boat. Fun.
