I know we all have our ways of doing things when we approach our work. Take for example the below driveway.

Where would you start washing this and why? Keep in mind you want to keep your chems on the surface as long as possible.

Where would you start on this? Just curious......[winky]

It all depends. I usually go with hose ease. I normally go street to garage, which ever side I park on is the side I start with.

I go from Garage to street so everything by the house stays clean and the dirt gets rinsed away from the house. But then again slope plays into which way to clean also.

If I were cleaning that drive way based on what I see in the pic, here is what I'd do.
1)First off, I'd trim it all, inlcuding entry way SW to front door, and expansion joints.(cleaning all the edges and areas the SC cannot get too)
2) Based on how the driveway looks underneath your wash mix, (it doesn't look to dirty,) I probably wouldn't even use a wash mix. After trimmming it out my next step would be to rinse the drive way down to remove any debris left after trimming it, and entry way, and make sure the concrete was thoroughly soaked, with water.
3) I would start with my SC on the far left of the DW, with hose in the yard, (or to the left of me) and start at street and go up DW to garage and back down.) This way I am not fighting the hose, the hose is always following me through the areas that I have cleaned.
4) once driveway is cleaned I then would rinse everything down thoroughly
5) Then I would DS a mixture of SH and water only, onto the driveway leaving it to dry. This will really brighten up the DW especially if it's a sunny day.

After saying all that, if you are wanting to wash that driveway to leave the chems on the longest possible time, then you would of course start at the bottom, working crossways and going from street to garage. This would prevent your wash water from rinsing your wash mix down the DW. However, this pattern will take twice as long to clean, IMO.

Did I win? Oh wait this wasn't a contest question was it? Oh well.

After applying our soap or secret sauce, we always start spinning on the low side, so the waste water does not dilute the soap dwelling on the rest of the ares. Of course we rinse from the high side down, then turn down the pressure and go to steam to "pop" any remaining gum and gum residue.
