$$ & Residential Flyers

I started my business a few months ago. I've been doing mostly commercial store fronts and some residential. I must admit that I've gotten lucky on getting most of these jobs. Mostly with phone sales and word of mouth. I'm trying to average 50-55 dollars per hour residential and 60-65 per hour commercial. Is this a good average? Or am I charging too much or little? I know that you guys can't price jobs for me, I just wanted a general opinion on if I'm charging fair. Both to the customer and to the industry. Also I started putting out flyers today in a older but very nice neighborhood. These houses are all at least 250 to 400 thousand dollar homes, but since they're older there's plenty of dirty long driveways and sidewalks. I put out 100 flyers. I was wondering if there's an average on how many jobs per 100 flyers you put out. I really am enjoying this business and I'm learning more everyday. By the way this forum is great.

Hi, welcome to the forums. If you get 2 jobs per 100 flyers, your flyer was a success. If you get more jobs then that, keep putting them out and keep your fingers crossed...

Flyers are a tricky business. If nothing else, it gets your name out so that people may reconize it later.

Also, there have been studies shown that if you deliver 3 flyers to the same area in a 1-2 month area, you will get a much higher responce rate then if you just flyered once. So, if you think this neighborhood of yours is a gold mind, don't give up putting flyers out if you don't get many jobs. Just keep putting them out... Sometimes people need to be reminded and such a few times.
