Roof and Patio Disaster

Lets keep in mind that residential concrete gets much dirtier then commercial (if you ignore gum). What I mean is, you almost never see a commercial sidewalk be almost black with mold/dirt.

When concrete is that dirty, as in the picture below, I dont think there's a surface cleaner out there that would get it quite as clean as using the wand.......especially if using a turbo nozzle. You would probably have to go over it multiple times with the surface cleaner, therefore defeating the purpose.

Dan,
You did the right thing by finishing the job to the best of your abilities. An unhappy customer is like the Eveready bunny, they talk talk talk and tell everyone about their experiance.
I am sure by the time you got through the home owner knew you put your heart into it!
Since I didnt see any before pictures I wonder if you didnt do a better job than you thought?
Always take before and after pictures if this is the first time you have done the job.
If its a one time only job price it 15-20% higher. Suggest that the customer consider a contract for quarterly or semi anual cleaning and reduce the price on the second cleaning.

Get a good squegee to move water out of your way so you can see your results.
I also have a very good success rate using turbo nozzles w/in line filters. One thing that I have found that makes things easier is to buy a nylon tool pouch with a belt. Put all of your fittings in it and just change as needed. You can also put a CD player or walkman in one compartment. This helps you keep your sanity on a long job.
