Rubber roofs

Was wondering if anyone has encountered rubber roofs and if so any suggestions on what chemicals or detergents to use,
We don't have that many over here so even my supplier hasn't a clue.......

Matt,

I don't really know much about rubber roofs but I would imagine that any type of laundry detergent would work fine.

I know that when I wash white tennis shoes with rubber soles in a washine machine (hot water) they turn our almost new.

The key is agitation.

Hello Matt,

You may want to contact the manufacturer of the roofing material. I would try to get samples of the material and then try the detergents that you want to use and see for yourself the response. The company that makes the material probably will tell you what you can and cannot use. We have had some cases where the stuff they said we had to use would not remove the soil!!

Some of the kitchen systems that we do have a rubber type roof on them. Roofing materials do not like grease from exhaust systems. It will also void the warrenty!

We use our degreaser to clean the surface and spray it very lightly. The roofs that we have worked on can be torn with high pressure!

Thanks Brett and Dave,

It looks like I'll just have to get up the ladder and try a few things.

be carefull with rubber roofs. Dont use anything that is petrolum distilliate based.
They look to be white rubber roofs MFG. by goodyear or firestone.
If it were me I would go to a place that sells RV'S they will have a cleaner there for rubber roofs. Then find the MSDS for it and look to see whats in it.
Spic n span a little bleach and a scrub brush is what they reccomend for RV'S.
But as far as spray on rinse off, you might want to talk to ron strickland about GUTTER ZAP.
It might just be the ticket your looking for?
