save huge $$$$ on chemicals

Did some research today and found a chemical company that resells unwanted chemicals from various suppliers who don't want to pay for disposal or just wan't to recoup a % of original value. I looked at their list and all the chemicals I use were available through them. To give you an example HF 70% I generally pay $12.00 kg their price $0.50 kg, HCL 33% $0.65 ltr, their price $0.20 ltr, Surfactant $4.50 ltr their price $1.00 ltr. Some of the other chems were: Caustic soda, phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid, xylene, diatomaceous earth, silicone, hydro carbon solvents, degreasers, detergents, sodium hypochlorite....................................................

Have any of you guys looked at this method of purchasing? The other bonus is that it is better for the environment by not actually dumping them. With regard to the quality, the company assured me that none of the chemicals were spent unless specified.
Regards
Jason

Mike,
the answer is-all of the above. It would cost the companies money to get rid of some of this gear, so it is a better proposition to offload it for free or sell it at a reduced price. The recycler that Iam currently speaking to is a chemist, and I assume that all recyclers would have a chemist on staff for quality control. If you don't think the quality is there then you have two options 1) don't buy it 2) alter your process and negotiate a much better price. If you ever have a chance to, go to a liquid waste dump, you will not believe the amount of great stuff that is thrown out. Paint, oil, cosmetics you name it. This is one of the limited examples of where the EPA policies can work in your favour by allowing you to puchase products at a reduced price.
