shopping center

Hey guys. This is a great site! I'm new to the biz and have gathered a lot of good info here.
Now to my opportunity. I have a 3000 psi at 5 gpm hot water machine. I also have a 30" surface cleaner. I've done several jobs but all have been just plain concrete flatwork. This shopping center has six entrances that are all red and natural colored pavers. Some entrances have the sand blown out of joints already and some are so close there are no voids. I was absolutely astonished from the amount of gum on three of the entrances. Worst one probably had 300 pieces of gum within a 800 sq ft area. I'm up to the job, but would like any suggestions from all the experience on this board.
Manager wants first time cleaning price and monthly maintenance quote understanding first cleaning will be higher. I'm doing sample area in a few days so they can see potential outcome of work. They even suggested that they are willing to repalce all entances if areas do not clean up enough.
There is a lot of potential here. While giving suggestions please keep in mind that I'm always looking for a good customer to provide a great service to and not to rape anyone. Seems as if everyone on this board feels the same way.
?Price, ?Tips, ?Chemicals, ?Anything
Thanks and God Bless us especially in this trying time.

Rex,
I use to do alot of flat work depending on what your area can handle I would say anywhere between 15-25 cents a square ft. for the first time cleaning. after that I would go any where from 10 cents to 15 a square ft. for monthly. I would use a turbo tip for the gum removal. Please be very careful when you use this tip it could dig into the concreate if your not careful. I found this to be one of the fastest ways to remove gum. If not you will be there all day and night with gum. I did a few jobs when I first started out with gum like you said and boy I was there forever But be careful. Make sure you tell them that after you remove the gum there will still be a stain left there. It will fade away after you wash it consistantly for a few months. I read a pole here once that some said they had some thing to remove gum stains but I forgot what it was. That is some advise without seeing the entire job. Good Luck

Cheer up David. Turn those frowns upside down and loosen up.

At 56 birthdays are not top of the list-I have a problem with people who do not list location. I have put my birthday in the system, I thought that it was in. I am so grateful to Mark for bringing it up and for Rex for completing his profile.
