Spray Nozzles

Whats your favorite nozzle pattern.

I use the 15 degree most of the time,I like its impact at close range and its gentling impact at a greater distance.I think it takes a skilled operater to master the 15 degree impact on most surfaces and to get the coverage he needs in speed.

My all around fav is 25 degree. Of course, I wash more decks than anything, so a little wider pattern works better for that.

25 degree is my 1st choice but more and more I have been grabbing the 15deg to get the work done.

It all depends on what your cleaning.....I hope none of you are using 25 & 15 on decks.

I disagree,I think it depends on who is standing in behind the wand. The 40 and 25 have a wider pattern but it takes a skilled master to use the 15 on all surfaces.

Actually, the nozzle size is every bit as important as the spray pattern.

I prefer a 25 degree for decks, because it gives just the right pattern for railings as well as floor boards. I don't like to back the nozzle away too far, because the spray is not as concentrated and controlled as when in a little closer.

And by the way, I carry many different nozzle sizes, but my preferences for decks is a #9, which on my machine allows a max psi of around 800. I also use a dual lance, and usually have it cranked down as well, so most deck work is done around 500psi. I know for sure because I have pressure gauges mounted on my washers.

I used 15 for a few years, went to 25 for a few years and went to 40 for a few years. This year I went back to the 15 and wondered why I even changed.I figured a 40 would be better for boards if you wanted to hold a pattern. It would get all the two's four's six's eight's to 12's and you could keep all your concentration and control. You could still do the same with a 15 expect maybe the 8's and 12's which you haveta make more wand strokes.Even by taking more wand strokes I think a skilled 15 degree user can clean that board as fast as the 25,40 degree guy,may be wrong.

I have a 5 and 10 degree but not skilled enough to use them on all surfaces.

When washing boards do you wash the crack first when the board?

and I never put gauges on my rigs anymore,if I did, it would be in a place where every Tom and Jane cann't see it.
