Stain

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with Olympic Natural look Protector Plus. Have a few questions about it:

Is this an oil or water base product? Semi-transparent?
Does it apply easily through a pump-up or Shurflo?
Is back brushing required?
What colors do they offer?
How does it hold up?

Thanks!

Andy,
Yes, I have extensive experience with Olympic Natural Protector Plus. The two I know of and use most are the Cedar Wood Tone for Cedar, and the green/fir tone, for Pressure Treated. I have used both, and personally like the Cedar tone, even on PTW. On a few occasions, I have mixed the two 50-50, for a lighter, more natural color. I like this method because many customers prefer a natural/clear color, and this allows me to instill a little more pigmentation, which adds to the UV protection, while still not adding as much cedar coloring.

The products are a pure oil base, which can be sprayed either way you mentioned, very effectively. Of course, back brushing or rolling is always necessary, in my opinion.

Another thing I like about these products are that they remove easily, with most any stripper, at a weaker mixture rate.

If I can be of any other assistance, please let me know.

Oh, and regarding how these products hold up....if it's not in significant direct sunlight, I've seen two decent years. In direct sunlight, usually one good year, not two, which is the case for most natural/clear stains.
