stripping paint

I am starting a PW business and have a couple of questions about stripping paint. I have a 3700PSI, 13HP, power washer w/ 4gpm (cold water)..is this strong enough to do the job? What would I be in for with this equipment? Do I need certain chemicals for this? Thank you in advance.

Well, I think you should be able to do it..could take some time though. I ALWAYS use heat on stuff like that. And, even then I always drop down to like a 15 degree nozzle to get it up.

i HAVE POSTED THIS QUESTION ON SEVERAL POSTS, AND OTHERS HAVE TOLD ME THAT I NEED A "ROTO NOZZLE". CAN I JUST USE A 15 DEGREE NOZZLE?

A 15 degree nozzle may work but, the Rotomax will make the job much quicker.

The Rotomax cleans in a rotary pattern enhancing the cleaning affect.

This is a tool you will need in your cleaning arsenal.

I have done al ittle of this, about $40,000 worth last year. You will want heat, and you will want a rotary or turbo nozzle. Pricing typically depends on degree of difficulty. I have found it runs around .50 a square foot for this. This is keeping in mind that the same customer pays a little under 4 cents a foot for concrete cleaning.
I don't use chemicals, and I do maintain the maximum pressure and heat on my machine, and some jobs you will lose money on , and some you make money on. It just depends on the paint and the type of material.

And when you test it with a "roto nozzle" (or turbo or tornado nozzle)...make sure you keep some distance between the nozzle and the concrete...like about 12+ inches...unless you want to do some engraving along with your paint stripping, of course.
