Stumped

Hi. I pressure washed a house with painted wooden surfaces approx. 2 weeks ago. When I was finished the job, it looked great. Mildew gone, surfaces clean. I used bleach and Tide and applied with an x-jet nozzle. I went back to the house today to do some other work and noticed areas of mildew had returned, especially on the glazing around the windows and on some of the doors. She never said a wod about it , but I was not satisfied and recleaned the mildewed areas. Whay did this happen? This is the second time I have had this occur-the mildew returning so quick. I feel this makes me look like I do bnot know what I am doing. I can see some mildew beneath the white painted surfaces. Any insight?
Thanks!

When you say "beneath the white painted surfaces"............do you mean, below them, or actually underneath the paint??

Mike, I am refering to mildew under the paint. After cleaning, I can see a grayish color under the paint where the area of heavy mildew was.
Thanks,
Mark

I never worry too much about painted surfaces. If they are not in good shape, then they should be repainted after the wash. I usually point out at the time of the estimate that the painted trim and what have you, will not look perfect after washing, and they might want to paint. Most people understand.

I dont think you're going to be able to do anything with a power washer to solve this problem...........sounds like a paint issue.
