Hello Dan,

I'm don't know what unit you were looking at. I have an older model of the Fury 2400 from Steel Eagle. The concept is great for certain types of cleaning. I used mine alot for interior warehouse floors. It paid for itself (I bought it cheap, used) in the first month. Steel Eagle doesn't make junk. There products are well designed and will perform for years with proper maintenance.

The production rate on these units will be considerably less than with a regular surface cleaner. There is additional set up time. another machine to monitor and another hose to manage. We experience a rate of 700 to 1000 sq ft per minute on most of our work with a 16" "floor Tool". In the same conditions, we could clean up to 2500 sq ft per minute with our standard units (no capture).

But if you really have to capture the water immediately, it's great. It's leaves only damp concrete behind. Oh yea, the surface must be very flat. Any variation in the surface will cause the vacuum to break and will leave small puddles.

With the price near $11,000 for good new setup, I would be sure that there was someone willing to pay for the extra cost of operation. I usually get $125 hr on mine.

See ya, Rick

how is this compared to using one of those booms to capture . but i kinda like the idea that the h20 can be sucked up and be dryer quicker with the fury.

Dan,

There are very few situations where I have to capture water. For those jobs I can usually get a much better production rate if I use a water filled boom and a small sump pump to recover water.

Another drawback of the Fury type system for exterior flatwork is that you will still need to use the wand for cutting in the edges and for the gum. This water will try to runoff and will be hard to control without a secondary boom system.

See ya,
Rick

If your looking at large flat work jobs your competitors will cut you apart . Interior specialized jobs like Rick said yes. I use the ponding technique with sand bags myself. I let water sit and evaporate. Interior jobs same thing with a vacuum.

Hello Dan,

The water filled boom is a vinyl tube about 4'' diameter that has a cap at one end. You fill it with water and lay it in the water stream to pool it. You can drain the water when you'er finished and roll it up a stow it easily.

See ya,
Rick

The Fury by Steel Eagle is Fantastic!

You actually get cleaner concrete with the Fury than with a surface cleaner without recovery!

The first Fury we sold made me a believer! We tried it on a greasy floor, along side a regular surface cleaner, the water and "contaminants" (dirt, oil etc.) are vacuumed up before they can seep back in to the concrete!

There are several configurations of the Fury that we sell.

Walt i never worry about competitors ...... and im just being honest here the competitors i have dont even do this at all ... they all do houses and equipment......i do all commerical work....and even if i did have a competitor doing this i still believe i can still be very busy at a great rate..

i also believe that this fury is the way to go ..... or something dif. i know there is another product out there i talked to a guy yesterday and it does the same thing as the fury .. but now we gots to work the money..... if ya know what i mean. This other unit is cheeper............i guess time will tell......

Now Hold On!!!

I have never been so UNHAPPY with a company or a product as I have been with Steel Eagle and the Fury 2400 system.

Just call Lee and drop me name. He'll cringe at the very thought of it. I had #38 off of the line, 4 years ago. I understand that the units now apparently do not have the problems that the old ones had. BUT, I could not get warranty work done, paid for, or even good old fashioned customer service.

The local distributor that I had to deal with had never actually replaced half of the parts that always needed to be fixed. How's that for confidence? They made me the offer to retrofit my unit with the "newly engineered" parts, but only if I paid the $300 + price tag to ship it to South Dakota.

I constantly had imploded filters, at $80 a pop, broken impellers, and the list goes on. It has spent more time down than it has ever worked. If I talk to it really nice, and make sure I only turn it on when the weather is perfect, it might run properly.

I finally went to using the vacu-boom system, because I could never guarantee to my customer that I could get the job down without having any problems. From week to week, I was lucky if the wands on the spinner unit wouldn't seize up on me.

I have been horribly dissapointed in the company and the quality of the equipment.

I could've practically bought a car for what I paid for that unit, and it still hasn't paid for itself.

Just the other side of the coin.

MT Dave,

I would be happy to mail you a brochure, e-mail me with
your Name Address etc. I expect to receive new literature
from Steel Eagle this month.

You can reach me by phone if you prefer.:)

Kendra,
Two of my customers use the Fury2400, (older models) although they have not been 100% trouble free they have been good units, and both of these customers tell me they have paid for the unit many times over?
I have numerous customers using the vacuboom, many of them praise the unit some curse it?
Go Figure!

I guess that is why there are Ford's, Chevy's, Dodge etc. :)
