Surface Cleaners: Hover Type OR Wheeled Type?

Hi guys,

Struggling with my decision about buying a surface cleaner.

Should I invest in the less expensive hover-style ( e.g. 24" whirl-away) or pony up the money for a wheeled unit (e.g. 24" steel eagle)?

I have a 3750PSI cold unit @ 4GPM. Maybe that will factor in on size of surface cleaner? Most effecient size surface cleaner for my machine...

I'd love for you pros to weigh in on this quandry! Wheeled or hover? What are your preferences? Is the wheeled type any eaasier to manuveur? Best manufacture? Steel Eagle?

I really want to make the most informed decision here, so your professional advice is MUCH APPRECIATED!

Thanks Again Guys!

What part did you not understand in the explaining from the pro's in your other post about floats and wheels?I thought they did a really good job in explaining about each.

Your right Larry, guess I was just looking for more input, just nervous about taing the plunge w/ the wrong SC. Think Im going to go with a 24" Steel Eagle afterall. I'll try to avoid becoming the 'guy with the redundant surface cleaner posts" Have a great weekend. Matt [wsmile]

Its OK to get the jetters when looking for something new to buy and not knowing or seeing something in action takes the wings off money. However I do know how hard it is when looking for something new to buy in the powerwashing trade. Some things aren't worth the asking price for new toys for some of use but for others the asking price is alittle on the cheap side.Tools in this trade makes things faster and in most cases easier, only thing you have to figure out is hooooow often will you use it.Some of my new toys are rusting over in the tool box, this is not to say they are not worth their money. If you can figure out my wording any tool is worth its money if you'll use it.

I wish I could recall the brand name of my sc...it is the hover type and I loke it. My supplier told me how much the casters were whne I needed to replace and that was enough for me...for now. One thing he suggested, I put filter inline and I have not replaced a nozzle since then.

we have very hard water here in my area and for soem reason, i was always getting trash in one or both of my nozzles...the filter stopped that problem.

I was at the PWNA show a few weeks ago and saw a lot of equipment in action. I posted a review in the "review" section. From what I saw, the HydroTek contractor model SC was unstoppable. Had a gum blaster and a water broom on board. And the price was decent - much more so than a lot of other higher $$, worse performance gear. I saw several hover-style, and all they did was make a mess, but no cleaning. Granted, not every manufacturer was there, and not every model was demo'd.
Mark from this forum has mentioned that he is a HT dist. You might drop him a note.

Just my €2.

Yep, that's it. I think it was the ANT2D. Spot cleaner (I called it a gum blaster), water broom, that's it. Again, I'm a bit uneducated at this biz - believe I'm looking at a June 1 kickoff for my PW biz - but I know what I see, and I saw this thing clean circles around other stuff.
