Tank - For Sale or Trade in the Dallas Area

Thanks for checking out my post.

Is there anyone here from the Dallas or surrounding area needing a large poly tank?

I have a 525 gallon horizontal poly leg tank that I don't use anymore. The tank is 70in long and 50in in diameter. It is equipped with a fitting for supply to your pump, a fitting on the top for connecting the bypass from the unloader, another fitting on the top for filling from a garden hose(takes about an hour to fill with a 5/8ths hose), a 2" drain plug, a large cap on top and comes with 2 heavy duty mounting straps.

This is the same type tank that some of the local PW equipment suppliers are selling for $800+.
I am asking $300 for this one.

I am looking for the following that I would consider in trade(in full or in part) for the tank:

  • 5' X 10', 3500lb capacity utility trailer - in good condition, rear ramp/gate or brakes would be a plus.

  • Used 16hp or higher horizontal shaft Briggs & Stratton Twin-V Vanguard engine - prefferably running - if not running, needs to in rebuildable condition (have all it's external parts, case must be in good condition and turn over with some compression).

  • 6in or wider wood jointer in working condition.

  • Band Saw(for wood) in working condition, prefferablly a larger model.

If you are interested in buying or trading for this tank, you can email me at Roger1002@aol.com

I might be interested. I am just starting to be interested in pressure washing. What equipment do i need to get started. Obviously i need a pressure washer. I found one at home depot for $500 and is 3000 psi and 3gpm. Is that a good deal? Is a water tank absolutely necessary? And if so can i just hook up the pressure washer to the water tank? Pressure washing seems very profitable, and my customers are starting to ask me for pressure washing. If you can give me some answers that would help greatly and i would honestly be intersted in buying the tank. Thanks

Well that is kind of a difficult question to answer not knowing type of pressure washing your planning to do. The type of pressure washing your planning to do will determine the equipment you need, including the pressure washer. A $500 3000psi @ 3gpm cold water machine from Home Depot might be fine for doing fences and decks but wouldn't do if you are going to be cleaning parking lots. Vent hood cleaning would require different equipment than fence and deck cleaning and fleet washing would require even different equipment.

Since you are still just thinking about getting into pressure washing, you should do a lot of research before buying any equipment, so you don't throw money away on something that is not suited for the type of work you'll be doing. Use the search engine on this board and look for post related to what you want to do. You'll be amazed at the amount of info contained in the posts on here. You will be able to see what equipment others are using for different types of pressure washing.

As for needing a tank. A large water tank is really only needed if you will be working in areas where you don't have access to water. When I first started I was doing some commercial cleaning (parking spaces and buildings) and didn't always have access to a water faucet, so I got a tank. I have since gotten away from doing commercial work and now do residental only and haven't found a house yet that didn't have an outside faucet. I now have a 30 gal float tank in case the faucet can't keep up with my 5gpm machine.

Sorry I couldn't give an exact answer for all your questions, but all answers you seek are on this board, if you are willing to look for them.

Good Luck

Home depot sells a 3700 psi 4 G.P.M. Honda Motor with a direct drive annovi Reverberi pump for $995.00 I have three and been using them for about 5 years now. The motor is a work horse but the pumps tend to go. I heard belt driven is better but dont have the money to upgrade all machines. Looking to buy a skid mount soon. Been doing houses, decks, sidewalks with great results.
