This should probably be in Shoot the Bull.........oh well.......
Well, I did something pretty rare these days...........did some work on my own house!! I've been too busy lately to pay much attention, however, next weekend my wife and I are hosting a block party.............so I had to make the deck look good.
It was sealed with Ready Seal two years ago, and it didnt look too bad........but the lattice work I added after sealing and never got around to sealing it..........so, the deck looked decent, and the lattice was dark gray............not the look you want to have when you tell people you do deck restorations for a living!
Friday was quite a day...........I started out by washing my deck, and my neighbors deck..............then did a 2 story house washing job...........then sealed a floor of a deck (maint. coat), then power washed a brick patio, got home and started sealing my deck at 9PM...........I couldn't believe it, but it was actually dry enough to be sealed over the course of just one day.........it was at about 10% moisture.............this is the nice thing about recoating a Ready Seal deck.........they dry out quickly.
Sealed from 9PM till 1AM Sat morning...........got all of the rails and spindles done by worklight.............then after some sleep, saturday morning I did the floor and saturday afternoon a second coat on the floor and the lattice. My neighbors probably thought I was nuts sealing a deck at midnight........but it was a really nice night out.
