The Thruster

Have anyone use or purchased the "thruster"? For those who are unaware of what this device is, it is a injector type chemical thruster. It is comparable to the x-jet.

I purchased it a few weeks back and Boy it really get the chemicals up high. I used it on a home last week and was quite surprised with its perfomance. The cost was about $39.00 compared to the x-jets $150.00- 180.00 price range. You can apply chems low pressure to the hieghts around 25-30 feet and rinse with the same device.

I have never used the x-jet so I really do not no what the camparison would be. You just can not beat the cost though. Anyone who have used both?

I've got a couple of them and I think they work just about as good as my xjets... Get a larger sized hose for the draw line and cut the nipple on it and you will also get a better chem draw. I havent tried the new m5 xjet yet, hopefully someone will come up with a reasonably priced copy of it. You can also make your own xjet even cheaper but it's not AS good.

Are you getting a similar draw rate with it? The Xjet gets 2:1 draw with a 5gpm machine...I've yet to hear of a knock-off that works as well. Just like we try to tell our customers...you get what you pay for. Why is that philosophy so easy to understand when it is us who stand to benefit by someone paying for a quality product, but so hard to understand when we're trying to save $100.00?

If it really does work just as well, great...If not, why worry about such a small amount? Hell, the thing lasts forever...$159.00 or so for a tool that will save you literally hours/week? What's the bid deal? I LOVE my M5...I don't even know where my original Xjet is...I wouldn't wash a house without it.

Like I said, IF it works as well, great. Then I'd agree with this statement. On the other hand, if the draw rate is less, then yes, I CAN beat the cost. I do a lot of roofs, and the minimum sodium hypochlorite concentration I've found that works is 3%. I take 10.5% pool chlorine and Xjet it onto the roof with a 5.6gpm machine...giving me just a hair more than 3% SH hitting the roof. If the draw rate were lowered to, say. 3:1, then I'm down to about 2.6% SH. This means I'll need to re-apply chems to the worst areas of the roof....I may need as much as another 2 or 3 gallons of 10.5% to get the roof clean...That's another $2.00 or $3.00 per roof, not to mention my time. I'll eat up that $100.00 that I saved pretty quick.

If you're just shooting soap on a house, then I'm sure it works just fine. Just make your mix a bit stronger if need be. For me, the real Xjet is what works best.

I personally just mix my chemicals up a bit stronger and I usually foam most of my decks and houses. It adds to the hang time of the chemical and seems to clean better. By the way, the thruster nozzle is now on sale at XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX for $26.21 it comes for machines with 2-5gpm or 5-8gpm

According to their sales flier, the sale begins 9/1. There are some awesome deals in there...They do this sale twice/year and it is a great time to stock up on couplers, hose, guns, etc etc. When they did the sale at the first of the year, I bought about $100.00 worth of stainless couplers/plugs...which would have cost me well over $200.00 anywhere else.

Sorry, I didn't realize that I couldnt mention distributers names on this bbs. I thought I just wasn't allowed to promote products that I sold... That is if I ever sell anything....lol

bought the thruster back in march thinking that I could save a few bucks. wasnt worth it. cant get better than 1:10 draw with it. after 2 uses it went to the bottom of the tool box. Save the $30 bucks and put it toward the x-jet.
