"I will persist until I succeed. Always will I take another step. If that is of no avail I will take another, and yet another. In truth, one step at a time is not too difficult.... I know that small attempts, repeated, will complete any undertaking."

Something to think about!

"The problem is not that there are problems.
The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem."

-Theodore Rubin

******************************************
"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
-Thomas Paine

God gave us two ends. One to sit on and one to think with. Success depends on which one you use; heads you win--tails, you lose.-- Anonymous

It's easy enough to be pleasant when everything goes like a song; but the man who is worthwhile is the man who can smile when everything goes dead wrong.

There's an old saying, "Erasers are for people who make errors." A better expression is, "Erasers are for people who are willing to correct their mistakes!"

The fellow who will never admit he was wrong really is saying he is no smarter now than he used to be.

The main difference between the wise man and a fool is that a fool's mistakes never teach him anything.

Some men--battle to the top; Others--bottle to the bottom.

The trouble with letting off steam is-- it only gets you into more hot water.

Many people, when they run into a telephone pole, blame the pole!

Our strength is shown in the things we stand for; our weakness is shown in the things we fall for.

Reputation is valuable; but character is priceless.

What lies behind us or before us -- are tiny matters compared with what lies in us

Going to church in the morning is nullified if you plan to go to the devil in the evening.

You are never fully dressed until you wear a smile.

Isn't it wonderful the way youngsters always brighten up the home? They never turn out the light!

Don't think you are necessarily on the right road because it is a well-beaten path.

Give some people an inch and they think they are rulers.

The fellow who sings his own praise often gets it in a key that's too high.

Others may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do.

It's not enough just to be good--be good for something!

Oftentimes the man who most desperately needs help is unwilling to admit he has a need.

Thanks Mark

He wasn't an educated man, but a very smart man - born a Sharecropper's son in TN, He achieved a lot with hard work ethic and lots of pride in what he did. He didn't say much, but when he did people listen.

The common denominator of success -- the secret of success of every man who has ever been successful -- lies in the fact that he formed the habit of doing things that failures don't like to do.
"The Common Denominator of Success" by Albert Gray as a major address at the 1940 NALU (National Association of Life Underwriters)

hope I'm not boring you - I enjoy written and reading quotes.

"People who want are a dime a dozen."

"A successful person acts instead of reacting."

"Knowing what to do is easy, doing it, is the hard part."

"If there is no wind, get a paddle and row."

"I Can't lives on I Won't street."

"WILLPOWER is the answer, most of the time."

"The man in the mirror is the only man that will make it happen for you."

I know they are not poetry, but enjoy written them.

"Your 'I WILL' will get you further than your 'IQ' "

this is from the same essay, I keep this on my note book.

"Why are successful men able to do things they don't like to do while failures are not? Because successful men have a purpose strong enough to make them form the habit of doing things they don't like to do in order to accomplish the purpose they want to accomplish. "

read the entire essay, only a few pages, but great stuff!
