Trex Decking

Hi guys!
Enjoyed chatting with all of you last night; we learn so much. Got a question for you: Dennis and I may have an opportunity to clean a Trex deck; is there any difference in pricing? Seems like it might be cheaper since it doesn't require sealing and might be easier to clean. We were thinking $.10 - $.12 a sq. ft.; are we in the right ball park? If not, please steer us in the right direction. Thank you.

At this point Dan, we haven't seen the deck. We're waiting for a call back from the guy who is giving us the referral. Wanted to have our ducks in a row and sound somewhat knowledgable when the discussion of price came up. Any help you can give us will be appreciated!
As always,
Gloria and Dennis

Hi guys,
In our business we run two crews, one building decks and one cleaning and sealing. We specialize in building with trex. We cleaned our first trex deck last year and found it had mostly mildew on it. We charged .50 sq. ft. and the deck had no railings. Be sure to use a deck wash with sodium hypochlorite (bleach) in it. Unlike wood you will want to scrub the deck befor pressure washing. We scrubed a test spot and rinsed off with a hose and it looked great when giving the estimate. When we came back to do the job we only used the power washer and it was not the same.
I recomend you use a short stiff brush on a broom handle, turn the pressure up, it is a lot more durable than wood. For additional information check out their web site www.trex.com Hope I have been of some help.
