Washing air conditioners

Has anyone ever cleaned roof mounted air conditioning units. If you have, do you have any advice. We have an oppertunity to bid on 7 of them and don't have a clue about them (ie: what to be careful of, don't touch this part and so on) I don't want to skip bidding on them just because I never have washed them before (there has to be a first time for everything).

Hello Laura,

Here are a couple pictures of a air handler that we cleaned last year.

It has a 18" thick coil that is about 12' wide and 10' high. This was the primary reason we were called. The coil was almost totally plugged. We also clean the intake area leading to this coil.

We had three man crew and used both of our trucks. Sprayed from both sides total of 18 gpm at 2000 psi, hot.

What do the units that you are going to bid on look like?
