washing inside oil field trailers

Hello to all,
Been out of pocket a while and alot of catching up to do, reason is the computer had to have it's annual check up..
Anyway I receive a call yesterday asking about cleaning the inside of oil tank trailers. Said they already had them clean using cold water but didn't remove all of the oil just move it around. They wanted to know about my rig, which I told them I had hot water 4000 psi 6 gal. a min. They went on asking about ins. and certification. They said they have the trailers wash at a waste deposal place, which at this time I was impress.
My question to him was if they had a detector to check for gases in side the trailer. In the pass I learned you never do any type of work inside a tank before getting a measurement of what inside.Have seen a trailer blow up when a welder stunk a arc welding.
The question I have is what is a good price for this kind of work? Don't know how many trailers are involved and how often they need to be clean.
They suppose to call me back today and I want to go and look what I am getting into, plus what to talk to the people at the waste deposal place.
If there is anything that I didn't mention that I need to beware of please tell me about it..
Thanks

Do you have confined space entry training? Do you have anywhere to dispose of the waste product? Do you have somewhere to wash the trailer? The reason they are calling you is that they think that you will be cheap. There are places that actually do bulk tank cleaning and you should probably refer them to this type of place.

Hello Scott
Never received that phone call today, but to answer your questions, well no I have not had confined space training.Yes they said they had a place to dispose of the waste water. And yes the place of washing is the same place they dispose of water.Without looking what I was up against I am looking at charging somewhere around 95-125 an hour. They mention I must have at lease two people on site.Don't really want to do this type of work but if the price is right can't turn it down. And as I am sitting here thinking about raising the price even more. Let you and others know how it come out if there is anything to it.
HAVE A NICE DAY

Why would you take the risk for $125 per hour. Think about what you are doing-get the training then do it. Lot of things can go wrong and that is why instructions are needed.
