Wastewater reclaiming

Looking for some help / information on wastewater reclaiming / recycling. We want to do this on site with a minimal amount of transporting waste byproducts off site. In other words a piece of equipment that at the end process will give us water clean enough to discharge into storm sewer.
Thanks, John & Pat 715-723-2062

Hello John & Pat,

I am looking for the same type of equipment. The only equipment that I have found will clean the water good enough to put in the sanitary not the storm sewer.

Let me know if I’m wrong, it’s been a long time since I fleet washed. When I did federal standards
[[Not]] local, only required the solid waste to be captured. Has this changed in the past few years?

I remember the days you could put microns filter over the sanitary and you would be in compliance.
Federal standards only deemed solid materials to be hazardous. If this has not change why would you want to purify water if it’s not necessary? Just curious

The reason you can’t discharge into a storm sewer is that water is never treated. It’s usually will wined up in our water table. Go to a wastewater treatment plant and you will find out there equipment is large. Then you will no why theirs no such animal. Even the city dumps bad water by mistake, could you imagine if we had every Tom, Dick, & Harry dumping water. soon we would not be able do drink it.

As far as I know there is no such animal. The government only wants storm water in storm sewers. This means that even clear tap water is illegal. At this is in most local areas. I had a discussion about it recently with a environmental guy from Phoenix. That was what he said. He said he has actually cited someone for emptying there pool water int o the storm drain. I guess they refused to stop after he asked them to. So basically you are out of luck because there is no such animal. Besides if you are going to get it that clean, you might as well use an RO unit. The problem with that is plugging up the filters.

You are right Ron. For going into a sanitary sewer you do need to filter all only the solids. They are not especially particular about that, they just do not want crud plugging the sewer lines. So you only need minimal filtration at best of wash water to go down the sanitary sewer.
