<FONT COLOR="Blue">Well I dont know how many of ya know it, but in south Fla we are in a drought :( I may have to goto the state for a variance (which I have never done be4) just so I can still work. Now a Question for all, they are talking low volume high pressure is better (the state is) than med or high vol with med or low pressure. I personally think my 8.5 gpm @ 2500 psiactually cleans better and faster therfore using less water than a machine that does 4 gpm @ 5000 psi. Anyone agree or disagree?(ps experience also saves water...lol) I am making sure I have a fair argument for the state as I cannot afford to buy another machine for this. I clean mostly residential, roofs and homes ect. Thanks in advance for the input

<FONT COLOR="e87400">Hey Mike.

First the Variance, No problem it's a piece of cake to get. I have had to get em many a time. I don't recall them ever wanting to know what systems I used or them having a problem with it. But hey every townships is different. I really don't see them trying to deny you because of your volume. This is your business, you are the Professional not them, just tell them it's what you need for your particular niche application. More than likely they will simply give you the waiver.

As far as what is better. I agree that Volume is. Does is use less water. ???. The world may never know. Less flow takes longer to do the job, so you spend more time i.e more water.
With you set up however, personally I think that it may be a bit of Volume overkill for your application but I cannot say for sure. What I do know is that when cleaning homes & or roofs I used to use 5.6gpm and it was plenty. almost too much for washing houses. But much of this biz is oponion. I feel that 8.5 is excessive but a guy like Les will probably feel it is optimal. Personal Preference. Now doing flat work I often tee my machines together to get 11.2 gpm, with flat work Volume rules.

Either way I don't figure your township will give you a hassle. All they will do is tell you to make sure you aren't wasting any water, lines, bybass, tank drain, etc..

Don't know how it is in Florida but here in Texas we had a really bad time with No rain. Level 4 which ment NO water washing no varience given.

As for the gpm, yes the moere gpm the better faster the clean. Good argument.

<FONT COLOR="Blue">Thanks, I feel a bit better about getting the variance now, I do alot of flat work, and 99% of the roofs I do I use my jetwash (surface cleaner) as we have a ton of cement tile roofs and double roll tile here. I only use my wand to do edge work and ashpalt shingle roofs. Thanks

Had 3.4 inches on my job site the other day, a total of 5.8 total for the month. I'd give anything to send it your way, it's killing me!

I'm not renting pumps anymore, just bought one. Takes about three days to pump out this hole :(
