Water Tanks

Good evening all!

I am looking for water tanks to install inside my enclosed 7' x 16' trailer. Any suggestions on where to find what I am looking for? I am need at least one 325-gal or so tank for water hauling and another 200-350 gallon tank for waste water. I would prefer rectangular tanks if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Ronco water tank, rectangular, 330 gallon. It's a wellbuilt tank.

I remember hearing awhile back that Mark at EasyClean could get them. I'd give him a call.

We just set up a truck mount wash recovery & recycle unit
with the 330# Ronco tanks last month.

I will post a pic later.

We can have the tanks delivered to you.

Brian,
Try www.diverseplastics.com or 800 695 3174, I bought 425 gallon tanks from them. They have one smaller rectangle size (350?). Also try your local car wash installers, at least one of them here has them.

Thank you all for the help! It looks like Diverse Plastics has a 315-gal narrow tank with stainless steel sidewall reinforcement that will work very well. I am looking at placing two of those in the back over the axles. This should leave me sufficient room for hose reels in the back and MD-48 and hot water PW in the front.

I am also considering putting the MD-48 in the back behind the tanks and putting the hose reels in front with the PW unit. Any thoughts about that? The MD-48 weighs about 750 lbs when full, but so does my PW unit. I probably wont be hauling the MD-48 around completely full of water. I haven't yet figured out how to mount the tanks securely, but am working on that.

Any other commentary would be welcomed. Everybody's help has truly made a difference in my plans and has influenced my decisions in positive ways.

Thanks again..........Brian

Hello Brian,

You might want to consider stacking your hose reels. Extra floor space is always needed.

Here is a picture of the back of one of my trucks.

Brian,
Have you estimated the weight of everything you plan on putting in your 16 footer? I too have a 16 footer but it's an open trailer and it grosses at 2990 lbs. An inclosed trailer is heavier than an open and the loaded max (GVWR) is still the same. I think you better RE-think what you are doing. I would say I'm not an expert but I am a retired Army Helicopter Technical inspector and Mechanic. One of my areas of expertise was Weight and Balance. Not as important here because it's not gonna fly LOL, but with just the water alone you have just over-grossed your trailer! The max water you mention is 675 gals. Thats over 4000 lbs. of just water!!! I carry a 325 gal tank, my skid unit, truck box loaded with tools etc..., box mount, ladder rack and ladder, hoses, 1 large hose reel, 1 small hose reel, various chems and spare tire. I estimate my weight at aound 3400 lbs when full.

Ed,

I just responded to your reply to my other post. Thanks again for all of the help.

Trailer 2,200 lbs
MD-48 (full) 750 lbs
HW Pressure Washer 750 lbs
1 Tank @ 315-gal x 8.8 lbs/gal 2,772 lbs
Tank mounting/bracing 100 lbs
Fuel/Chems/Equip 1,000 lbs
----------
7,572 lbs

With a 7,700 GVW, I am just under the max. I really don't intend to ever haul with both tanks full. There is minimal difference in width and width between the 315-gal tank I intend to use and the 225-gal tanks I have found. So, I figured I should just go with the bigger ones. Is that crazy?

Thanks again........Brian.

I'm just starting out and have a much smaller trailer, but when looking for tanks, I found some rectangular USDA approved used tanks on Ebay. They have a steel cage around them and are on a skid. They have a two inch outlet. I ended up finding a 250gal tank at my local hoods that's just like what I found on Ebay. It measures 48 wide x 39 long and I picked it up for $90. I had to wash it out (good thing I had a PW...). Just wanted to let you know that "outside the box" worked for me when I was looking for my tank.
