What Do You hate The Most About Pressure Washing?

I hate to roll up the hoses, just about as much as I hate it when I edge a driveway and it sprays dirt all over me. :D

When doing house washing- its the landscaping mulch, fence work-its the dirt
I use a piece of vinyl siding now to try and help.
The thing i hate the most is the amount of money i have spent on chems.
I wash trucks, houses, wood, and cement. 6 chems for the trucks. 5 for house washing
3 for cement And wood is endless [4 strippers-2 brightners-4 sealers and counting]
I know why people specialize in one type off job now.
I just mounted my equipment in a 14ft box truck
Other then buying a hot water skid unit its by far the best thing ive done so far.
Dont think ill ever go back to a trailer ever again, but i might be landing a job where ill need to pull a water tank trailer.

Trying to get the chemicals to the top of a very tall house. Getting absolutely soaked because you forgot to button the rainjacket. Having to be extremely careful not to damage the customer's prize winning roses as you pull hoses around the house. STRIPPING DECKS!!!!!!!

What do I love the most? Folding that check up and putting it in my pocket while talking to a VERY satisfied customer. Being able to schedule around family functions (yes, this includes fishing). Watching the business mature from a vague idea into a reality and planning the future.

Up and down ladders. The knees feel it when I get home. Not to forget spraying stripper and brightner in the wind and getting it back on me. The cats and dogs don't like the taste!!!!!!

Best part, looking at a finished deck and wishing I had the money to have one just like it, but end up putting aside the money for my new cruizer I hope to buy one day.

Good topic!

I hate when I'm washing a house, and I forget how far I can go with the x-jet tube, I pull too far, and I tip the 5 gallon bucket over, spilling the house wash mix all over! That's awesome! I don't curse or anything...

I hate overspray...

I hate sodium hydroxide on my skin...

I hate mulch...

I LOVE a satisfied customer and getting PAID!!!

Hey Chris,
Call Xterior and get you one of those X-Jet buckets. Solves the problem of tipping over the housewash and killing all the grass.

DAN you could have sold your spot in line for $150 and you could have went to dinner yourself.
Harley charging $150 for a place in line. Thats BS. They are holding back bikes just to keep up the hype. If you look at the full stock portfolio they either have tons of extra parts or holding back to release of bikes. Once they are easy to get they wont get the asking price.
There are over 20 harleys for sale in the newspaper today.

Because I am on new construction sites, I get plenty muddy, and so do hoses and other equipment. I hate that.

Also hate lots of wind, especially when spraying acid on 40 foot houses.

But when I am on a secluded site, with the sun dancing on my back, I remember why I started this business!

What I hate.

I dont really hate anything , but dislike some things alot. I hate getting wet from overspray on cold days. Which is only a few days a year. LOL Employees who try to reinvent the wheel , Just do it my way! I think Ive done it long enough to know how and with what . Maybe thats just frustration. And people who abuse your equipment. But no one is going to take care of your stuff like you do anyway. I really hate cheapskate customers. You do an excellent job and the extras for free and they feel like you are stealing from them because you finished in 5 hrs. instead of 6hrs. But that is a whole nuther thread. Ah heck now you got me all worked up I think Ill just take tomorrow off and go fishing. Fine

It's a tie between the employees, and the customers who occasionally try to set you up so they can get a freebie or a reduced price.

Employee - The ones that forget what job they left the equipment at, or blame it on a co-worker... or whatever. We have another new policy this year. If something gets forgotten or there is a mistake on a job, everyone who was on site suffers. We have a new incentive program for job excellence. too many boo-boos last season not to.

Customer - You know they type, the ones who never had a certain condition on a deck or home till you showed up.... that's what got us to the point of noting EVERYTHING on the proposal, from prior overspray, to dings in the siding already there, to loose rails, etc....even plants that are dead around a deck. Oh! and the ones who think if they are NASTY when they call you will move them up on the schedule. You can be as nasty as you want. No cutting in line, period!

Dan,
sounds Good to me, I was in your neck of the woods today polishing some Glass, right off 242, the strange thing is after living here for 11 years and countless jobs in the Woodlands I still manage to get turned around there.

Ya it's really tricky around here. I have it down pretty good now after a year and a half of driving in circles. (he he). I found a really nice map of just the The Woodlands which really helped. I'm on my second copy of it. The old one has worn-out to nothing.

We shop over at 242 and 45 all the time. I live in Grogans Mill which I am sure you know is a village in The Woodlands. Not to sure where Magnolia is? Is that off 1488 some place?

Email me at dan@powerwashnetwork.com and we can exchange phone numbers.
