In my opinion, they don't get any better than Landa. Some say they are overpriced.

Are you sure about the electric? Your model number is a 5 gpm unit with an electric start but it is gasoline powered and diesel fired. The amount of voltage and current needed to turn a Baldor with that type of output would be massive. It's not something you would plug into an outlet. Are you doing mobile washing or is this going to be a stationary industrial unit?

I apologize the electric is for electric start. It is a 120v burner. So Landas are good? I had one before but it was donated and would have cost about 2 grand to bring back on line so I ended up donating it to someone else. I am a mobile comercial cleaning outfit. So if I know I can get another brand washer ( hydro-tek,Mi-t-M,a couple others) for about $4500-$4800 but then have to add $850 in shipping plus $420 for local taxes which brings the total to around $6070. and I would have no local warranty service place versus the Landa for $7,000 out the door with local parts warranty and service here on the Island, which would you all choose? Is the extra money for the Landa worth it?

If local service is important, which it is for a lot of folks, then I'd look for something other than a Landa, which in my opinion, is overpriced.

I really see no reason you can't find a decent rig for at least $1000 less than that Landa. And $1000 can buy a lot of good accessories.

We started out with a Landa with the same spec's as to what you want to buy. We bought ours in 1992 and it ran strong with little to no break downs for about five years. I Paid about $4,500 for it in 1992 traded it in five years later and got $2,500 for it on a trade in. But over all we were real happy and pleased with the proformance of the unit. Yes, it may cost a bit more and there is not much difference between pressure washers except motors, pumps, unloaders and burners other than that they are all the same. (In a way)

good luck,

Tony

As Anthony stated they take tons of abuse without complaint, are conservatively rated, have a ton of built in protection, use all top notch parts, have large tanks, are smaller in size than most skids and have good resale value. Other than engine, transmission, suspension and build quality a Chevy is the same as a BMW.

If it's in your budget, you can't really go wrong. Tony has a very valid point though.. for a guy starting out that extra grand or so can buy hoses, reels and a modest surface cleaner.

She is not a hot water unit but she is a landa, and my little girl needs little overhead but is taken care of.

We have been together for 12 years and one pump maker over 200.00 one return hose for got the price not much and it was carried by 3 different shops close by.

I love her! she is getting a bit old and does not look like anything when I first met her. :) I can say them same about myself.

You get what you pay for and if thats the only one in your area and they service them I don't think you can justify anything Else.

Landa will be my next machine when the time comes five or six years from now. :)

I have a friend that has landa hot/cold 3,000psi at 5gpm. His only issue the machine is 7 years old, but he has replace motor 2, pump 3, heat box 1, belt 3, plus in and out for hot water not working. I have heard good things about them besides the price, My buddy's machine could just be a lemon though [moon] [moon] [moon]
